28th September, 2008 – Netster Malaysia: Wedding.com.my has made its debut in the local press. On 14th September 2008, Nan Yang Daily published an interview with Wedding.com.my, focusing on current trend of wedding planning and online wedding planning resources in Malaysia.
Netster Consulting Asia is the brain behind www.wedding.com.my. The main function of the website, according to Netster Consulting’s Brandon Chang, is to be a platform which aside from providing information, will also allow it registered users to interact with each others in forums. The website offers free information and resources to web users in general, but once the users register as members, they will be able to access the website other functions, including Photo Uploading, Creating Guest Mailing List etc. The services provided, Chang stated, are free of charge, and their main revenue comes from advertisers.
"We are currently increasing wedding.com.my’s revenue and number of users through Google’s advertising programs." He points out that right now, an estimated 3000-5000 people log in as Internet users each day in Malaysia. Therefore, the company has also set its target to achieve that number of users to the website within a year. "As users increase, we will start partnerships with bridal outlets, stylists, photographers, hotels and travel agents. It brings in more information for our members, and at the same time, increases our advertising revenue."
At the moment, wedding.com.my, officially launched in July this year, has been working with one of Malaysia’s well-known estate website, www.estate123.com.
